What we treat, and how.

Eighteen conditions, three services, one plan. If you have been looking for a chiropractor for pain management in Scottsdale who treats the cause rather than the symptom, start here: find what hurts, read how we treat it, and book the right first visit.

Find what hurts

What does a chiropractor treat? Here, these eighteen.

Grouped by where it hurts. For each: what is going on, how the three services combine, when to see a doctor first, and the questions patients ask most.

Three ways in

One doctor, one plan, three ways to treat it.

Dr. Tracey is a chiropractor and a board certified acupuncturist, with licensed massage therapists on the same hallway. A plan can move between all three without a referral.

About chiropractic

How we decide

How we decide what you need

The same five steps for every condition. A chiropractor near me for pain should be able to explain each one.

  • History

Where it hurts, when it started, what makes it better or worse, what you have tried, and anything that points to a problem we should not treat.

  • Exam

Hands-on, with motion and posture checks and the nerve tests the condition calls for. The joints above and below the sore one are always checked.

  • Imaging only when it changes the plan

Most conditions are diagnosed by history and exam. X-rays or an MRI are ordered when weakness is progressing, an injury needs ruling out, or the plan is not working.

  • A plain-language plan

What is going on, which of the three services will be used and in what order, and how many visits it should take to know it is working.

  • A re-check at every visit

The plan changes as you do. If it is not moving the problem, it changes, or we refer you to someone who can help.

Why one provider

Pain management from one provider: chiropractic, acupuncture and massage.

Most pain has more than one part: a joint that has stopped moving, a nerve that is irritated, muscle that has locked down around both. A practice with one service treats one part. Dr. Tracey is a chiropractor and a board certified acupuncturist, with licensed massage therapists on the same hallway, so one plan can treat all three parts, in the right order, without a referral or a second intake. That is what chiropractic, acupuncture and massage for pain under one roof means in practice.

It also means one person explains it to you. Every page on this site is written the way she talks in the treatment room: what is going on, what we will do about it, and how you will know it is working.

Real questions

What people ask before booking.

Searched in Scottsdale What does a chiropractor treat?

Mechanical pain: the back, neck, hips, shoulders, knees, feet and jaw, the headaches and nerve pain that come from them, and the injuries of sport, work and car accidents. A chiropractor does not treat infection, fracture or disease, and the exam at the first visit is designed to find the cases that need a physician first. The eighteen pages above cover what is treated here.

Conditions treated by acupuncture: which do you see most?

Conditions treated by acupuncture here include most of the eighteen, alongside chiropractic care. Acupuncture is used most for headaches and migraines, sciatica and other nerve pain, TMJ, neuropathy, carpal tunnel, arthritis aching, sports recovery, and the stress and sleep problems that make pain worse. Dr. Tracey is a board certified acupuncturist, so it is part of the same plan.

Can a chiropractor fix a pinched nerve?

A chiropractor restores motion to the spinal segment whose narrowed opening is pressing the nerve, so the pressure and inflammation come down. Combined with acupuncture and massage, most pinched nerves settle with conservative care. The pinched nerve page explains it in detail.

Massage or chiropractic for back pain?

It depends on whether the problem is the joint or the muscle, and it is usually both. Here you do not have to choose: the exam tells us, and one plan can use both, often in the same visit.
